Wall, James Marshall

James Marshall Wall (1839-1921) of Fayette County, TN, entered the University in 1856 and joined the Dialectic Society. He served in the Confederate army, attaining the rank of captain, then returned to Chapel Hill to resume his education. Wall graduated in 1867 and from 1870 to 1878 was sheriff of Anson County, NC. He also was a public school teacher and school superintendent.
